We are a fast growing, industrial company in Chicago looking for an experienced Manual Machinist who can work in a custom pump repair/job shop and machine on the following equipment: • Engine and turret lathes, large vertical turret lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills, drill presses, surface grinders.
Capable of setting up, operating and adjusting the equipment. Necessary skills include such as boring, threading and facing. Candidate must be proficient with the following measuring tools to verify dimensions of machine work: Micrometer, calipers, depth gages, fixed gages, thread gages, go-no-go gages, templates and dial indicators. Ability to set up and use jigs, fixtures (collets), arbors, mandrels, centers, clamps. and indicators. Sufficient math skills required to compute angels, radii, bolt circles and other dimensions. Work to tolerances within .001 inch. Must be able to do tool layouts, and design and produce parts from blueprints. Set cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts and cutting tools.
